It's hard for me to fathom that a year has passed since the war in Lebanon. During the last year and now as we are living the first anniversary of that war, much detail about what happened day to day has been uncovered, especially on the border. The names of villages like Maroun Er-Ras and Bint Jbeil are now known to people around the world, and for many they've become synonymous with steadfastness and resistance.
For once I'm choosing to be simplistic and, perhaps selfishly, ignore the dire straits that Lebanon is currently going through, and all the politics and political correctness. And declare my happiness, pride, appreciation, and respect for the great feat that Hezbullah and the people of Lebanon have achieved.
I bow before the courageous resistance, the thousand martyrs, the million refugees, and to everyone who helped them.

In our country, we believe that Hizbollah and Hamas are terrorist organizations. They killed 240 US service men.
If your views are different from what most of us believe, you must go back to your own country.
You live amongst us, get educated with our tax dollars, and you have the audacity to root for the Hizbollah?
I know many Americans who actually consider Hezbollah a legitimate resistance movement, but that's beside the issue since the perpetrators of the Marines barracks bombing are unknown, try reading the history and what Defense Secretary at the time Caspar Weinberger has said. Would you ask these Americans to leave the country?
If you actually read some of my posts on the topic you'll see that I'm anti terrorism.
FYI, I pay for my education, and I pay taxes myself. If you were honest with yourself for a minute you'll realize that Hezbollah was never a threat to the US.
You dont pay for your education. 71% of grad students in america are foreigners and they are supported by our tax dollars.
Did you not a tuition fee waiver in grad school? If you did, it was paid for by the american tax payer.
Also, while your own views on if the hezbollah is a threat to the US might be different from mine, there is no doubt that they are a radical islamic group. Radical Islam is a threat to everything that defines America. The freedoms that we enjoy allow us to question the most fundamental beliefs that make us, and help us evolve as a society. Islam as a religion is conformist, and in simple words wants to take us all back to the 6th century.
Now you tell me, if a religion wants to take all of mankind back to the stone age, why is not ok for os to bomb it back to the stone age?

A doctor and a rocket scientist from India end up trying to blow up an airport.
Are you able to see how much of hatred this news report will cause in a moderate western male? Even my russian friends hate Islam.
How are we ever going to get rid of the notion Islamic bearded men are subhuman who have been brainwashed into taking the world back to the 6th century?
A tuition fee does not mean free education, if you're at all familiar with how the graduate students system works you'll know that the research and teaching activities grad students perform are invaluable to universities and actually saves them a lot of money versus the universities having to hire full time staff to do the same job. I'm glad to be fortunate enough to benefit from this system and proud of the work I do which earns me well-deserved compensation that I in turn pay taxes from. So don't make it sound like I'm a burden on the American economy.
As for the latter part of your comment, you make unfounded assumptions about my beliefs, I'm not a religious person, and I did not mention religion in the post you're commenting on. As for bombing people, you've dropped enough bombs on Iraq and Afghanistan to send them back beyond the stone age, but that's not boding too well for you is it?
If your solution to the world problems is to kill everyone that disagrees with you, or have different beliefs than you do, trust me, you will tire long before you kill them all.

Yes, I am able to see the rightful hatred towards such horrendous unjustifiable criminal acts. Are you able to see that myself and hundreds of millions of people in that part of the world feel the same way you do about such acts?
Islam is the problem.
We let you people into our countries. We even let you build mosques in our country.
Why cant you let us build a church is Saudi Arabia?
The comments are sinking deeper into absurdity.
Saudi Arabia is a non-democratic country where rights such as freedom of speech and religion are nonexistent, follow their model if that's your idea for a perfect country. Interestingly enough, Saudis are one of America's major allies in the Middle East.
